Favourite Formation

There's been a huge increase in formations in fifa 14, also with the feature of formations taken away from player cards, there's been so much more options users can do to still get 100% chemistry.

My Formation:

Personally my favourite formation is       4-1-2-1-2. It's my favourite because there seems to be a good balance of players in each part of the pitch and especially with my style of play, using the pass and move combined with wingers crossing into the box works very well for me. Obviously you need the right team for this, I normally go for a BPL team, a decent goalie is what you need but most goalies in the prem are of good standard. Defence I would go for fast left and right backs and with centre backs you can go for a fast pair such as chiriches or boateng, both are very fast but also you could go for two tanks such as vidic and vertonghen. The perfect CDM's are either Felliani or Tiotie in my opinion. Left and right midfielders are best being fast but could also go for the skillful side if you can confidently use skills but most midfielders of a good rating are good. CAM's are used for mainly passing and if they have a good shot it's an added bonus, I would say Rooney is the one you need. Finally onto the strikers, I would go with a partnership of strong and fast, possibly Benteke and struddige as a good combination. 

Other Formations:

My formation might not be the one for you as your style of play could be completely different to mine which would mean this formation may not be as effective for you as it is for me. I'm going to be trying out other formations out in the future and will see what style of play works for each of them, but the one thing I like is to have all the players in my club able to use in any squad which is now enabled as there is no formation on the cards.

Bundesliga Cup

Entry and Rewards:

The requirements for this cup is to have 11 bundesliga players in you'r starting 11, this is all there is for the requirements for both online and offline. Rewards for this cup are for offline; 1,000 coins and 1 Training Item and for online; 2,000 coins and 1 training item.

Best Squad To Use:

For me the best formation for this tournament would be to use my favourite formation which is 4-1-2-1-2. I will include a picture of the team below to show you what starting 11 I would have. The whole team is extremely solid and if you come up against this team they have a lot of money to spend and also you will be in for a match against them. There is obviously cheaper options you can take but this is just the example of the best possible none IF team. (Hope it helps with your choices)

My Current Squad:

The team you can see below is the team I'm currently using to try and win the Bundesliga Cup with. It's a very cheap team to buy, all players are below 5k which is what most user need when it comes to going into random featured tournaments, obviously there will be teams like the image above as they will be the opponents who use the Bundesliga team all the time but you can miss them and come up against people who just want to win the cup so they have it in their collection which is what I'm doing as well.

Winning The Cup:

How I would go about winning this cup is player steady football and just keep trying, there will be players in these tournaments who will be so good you just can't physically break down their defence, you also may encounter the luckiest opponent ever who will score in the 90th to take you out the final but if you keep going there will be matches that you will get that break to win.

When looking up for what team to use Maher with I was originally going with his league team but with different aspects of the game changed I was thinking to go basic and make a nationality team, surprisingly the Netherlands team is not as strong as I thought it was going to be but it was still a team I believed can challenge the top flight team in divisions. Below is a recreation of my team I'm using and the image is taken from Futhead.com where you can make your teams before trying them out to see what they are like. 

Price Of Team:

GK: Vorm - 750 coins

LB: Buttner - 7.9k

CB: Heitinga - 400 coins

CB: Vlaar - 700 coins

RB: Ligeon - 1k

LM: Elia - 1.1k

CDM: De Jong - 700 coins

RM: Narsingh - 1.7k

CAM: IF Maher - 10.5k

ST: RVP - 125k (Can change for cheap option)

ST: Huntelaar - 850 coins

First Match Impressions:

I came up against a very average barclays premier league squad, had Cech in net, best defender being Kompany, best midfielder being Cazorla, also having Sturridge and Benteke upfront. Within 24 minutes they tackled RVP from behind in the box and conceded a penalty which Cech did make a wonderful save but the main factor in it was that Schurrle their left midfielder got sent off, leaving them with 10 men on the field.

Down to Maher's role in this match, he has great passing and positioning, he seems to be in the spots where I could play a one, two with one of the wingers to advance further up the pitch very effectively. I believe he could get round players but his main purpose would be a pass and move role, can shoot, unfortunately no goals in this match but was denied two very unlucky chances by some brilliant saves, so within the next few matches I hope to see a cheeky couple of goals from him.

Final Thoughts:

Now after playing a full five matches with Maher and the team in the picture I can make my final thoughts on Maher and what rating I would give him out of 10. Maher ended up with 3 goals and 2 assists for my team, one goal was a tap in but the other two goals were very nice strikes.

Maher is an in-form I would defiantly consider buying, he costs a minimum of 10k and probably will drop by the end of this team of the week as he has a very high card weight. He's got an insane pass and will set up runs left, right and centre. Maher also has quite a deadly shot when given the right situation. Whilst he has these two brilliant points, his pace could be a little bit higher but if you're playing a passing role for him that's no problem.

Overall he got an average match rating of 8.4 and to be honest I would agree with that completely, if I was rating him I would give him an 8.3-8.6 rating out of 10, he's a very cheap and good in-form.

Team Of The Week 14

This is going to be a new blog I'm going to be starting as of today. The first post for this blog will be catching up on the latest team of the week (ToTW) for fifa 14 ultimate team.

Most Increased Player:

This week the most increased overall rating goes to Pardo going from 73 to 77 and also to Kucharczyk who went from 65 to 69, both being increased by +4 in their overall ratings. But Pardo tips off being the most increased player this week by also achieving a total increase of +32 total stats as well. Pictures will be used more often in this blog once I get back onto my computer as I'm currently at home for Christmas and not brought my tower back with me

Who's My Choices:

In this team of the week the player I would be most excited to play with would obviously be Tevez, I've currently not used his none in form card but just looking at that 90 shooting and 86 dribbling makes me want to use it, but sadly that sort of cardage will come with a hefty price to pay which I currently am no where near. 

Another player I would be quite interested in using would be James Rodriguez, you may be thinking of course you would he's second highest in this weeks ToTW, but in fact I would like to play with him because of his position change, he's gone from being that tricky right wing player and is now converted into a CAM role, I would quite like to see how he's 4 star skills and brilliant passing works out in the centre of the park.

I hope you've enjoyed this first post, I believe you can comment on this post if you have enjoyed the post but I'm still new to blogging so it will take me a little while to get to use to how everything works. I will try and post as much as I can possibly do, but I would like to say if I don't post for a couple of days It's because I'm trying to think of a post worth sharing, not just putting a few words and posting it as it's not relevant and could be useless information that you won't want to read and would be a waste of your time. I'm hoping to at least get Team of the week out each week on the Wednesday it comes out on. Also I shall possibly try doing player reviews on unknown or not used players, even the occasional squad builder, this would involve me putting a couple of pictures up of one of my teams I've been finding very good and you could copy it and try it for yourself's.
